Getting Started with Adcyma
This guide takes you from creating an account to a fully connected tenant: sign-up, connecting your directory, choosing which users Adcyma manages, and inviting your team.
Step 1: Create your account
Go to portal.adcyma.com and start the sign-up. It has three short steps:
- About You - Your first name, last name, and work email. A business email address is required; personal addresses (Gmail, Outlook, and similar) are not accepted.
- Your Company - Company name and address, plus an optional VAT number (used for EU reverse charge invoicing).
- Review - Confirm your details and accept the terms of service.
After you click Create your account, you'll receive a confirmation email with your sign-in link. Adcyma is passwordless: you sign in with a magic link (or the one-time code from the same email). See Authentication for details.
Step 2: Connect your identity provider
The first time you sign in, the setup wizard walks you through connecting Adcyma to your directory.
Select Microsoft Entra ID and enter the Client ID, Tenant ID, and Client Secret from your Entra app registration. If you haven't created one yet, follow the App Registration guide first; it lists the exact Graph permissions Adcyma needs.
Adcyma tests the connection, saves the settings, and then syncs your directory: groups, departments, and job titles are pulled in automatically so the rest of the setup has real data to work with.
Running on-premises Active Directory or a hybrid environment? Complete the wizard with your Entra ID connection first (or contact support), then switch the provider mode and install the Active Directory agent from the Identity Provider settings page.
Step 3: Choose which users Adcyma manages
Adcyma only acts on users in one group you select; everyone else stays untouched. On its first scan Adcyma reads your whole organization to understand its structure, but it will only ever make changes to members of this group.
- Pick an existing security group, or create a new one directly from the wizard (for example "Adcyma Managed Users")
- The group must be a static security group, not a dynamic group
- We recommend creating a dedicated group and adding exactly the users Adcyma should manage, leaving out service accounts
Users created by Adcyma later are added to this group automatically. You can change the group afterwards under Managed Users, but read the notes there first; users leaving the scope stop being managed.
Step 4: Set your naming conventions
Choose how Adcyma generates identities for new users: the primary domain, and the username, display name, and email formats, with a live preview. The advanced settings control how spaces, accented characters (ö → o or ö → oe), hyphens, and duplicate names are handled.
Set these carefully now; they apply to every user Adcyma creates. You can adjust them later under Preferences, but changes only affect new users.
Step 5: Invite your team
Add colleagues who will use Adcyma with you. Each invitee receives a sign-in link by email. Two roles are offered here:
- Admin - Full access to manage users, configure workflows, and settings
- User - Standard access to the People Hub
You can skip this and invite people later under User Permissions.
You're connected
The final step shows a snapshot of what Adcyma found: groups synced, domains, departments, job titles, plus any unused groups and inactive accounts spotted by the Hygiene Center. From there you land on the dashboard.
A Getting started checklist on the dashboard tracks your remaining setup: enable a role template, create a workflow, create a dynamic group, connect Exchange Online, onboard your first user, and invite a team member.
